"Balota"
Note: When we say megapost, we mean it, so those, whose computer/connection can't handle it, be warned:)
We were looking previously at the new arrivals at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Berdorf Goodman and so we thought, we should make a post about the burning passion of many women (us included - obviously!): Christian Louboutin heels. We truly adore the feminine and sexy lines of Louboutin shoes, even if they are sometimes slightly aggressive and/or extravagant (see über-platforms). Also, we love the fact that many of his designs bring to mind old school heels from the ΄40s and '50s (like the Pigalle* model) and are pretty much like Bettie Page on a fetish poster, only a bit more on the chic side, yet without excluding the fetish aspect. Here are the heels (and one pair of flats) that we liked most.
Note: Louboutins can be bought online on net-a-porter. Online shopping from Bergdorf etc. is possible only for US and Canadian citizens. In Athens, they can be found at the Enny di Monaco boutique (Irodotou 23, Kolonaki)
* for the ones that may not know it, Pigalle is a district in Paris. Moulin Rouge is in Pigalle, along with many sex shops. Van Gogh, Picasso and -naturally- Toulouse Lautrec used to live there. By that mixture of creativity, bohemia, lights and sex, it is really no wonder as to why Louboutin chose to name one of his classics after Pigalle (and that's why we love him!)
Neiman Marcus:
Saks Fifth Avenue:
Balota Glitter Leather Strappy Sandals
Pigalle Plato Patent Leather Platform Pumps
Peep-Toe Pumps
Pigalle Point-Toe Skimmers
Bergdorf Goodman:
Here two gorgeous classics, that belong to the basics of every wardrobe:
nude pump + peep toe pump.
*sigh*
