Lady Gaga at Maxim's + Thierry Mugler runway

Okay, she just redeemed herself for her "Born this Way" video. She went to ultra snobby Maxim's in Paris and breezed right through the dress code. Respect.

"What Modern Is: The Collection of Mark McDonald"

In a few days, on March 11, Sotheby's New York will auction the Mark McDonald Collection. Mark McDonald was and continues to be one of the foremost dealers in modern design. His collection about to be auctioned reads as a catalogue of modern design. You can view objects designed by Alvaar Alto, Marcel Breuer, Frank Lloyd Wright, Isamu Noguchi, Charles + Earl Eames and many more at the Sotheby's e-catalogue (with a lot of information and backstories on the objects, when choosing "Lot by lot>Catalogue Notes and Provenance"). Here are also some videos regarding the auction, as well as an interview with Mark McDonald.

One of the objects that we liked, is this one here by Isamu Noguchi ("Radio Nurse", Zenith Radio Company, Chicago, 1937), which looks like a cross between a robot and a samurai mask. Information on this baby monitor (!) can be found here (via Victoria & Albert Museum)

"Night Driving" - Richard Burton

One of the most beautiful and atmospheric ads we have seen. Combining the experience of driving at night (surely, something we all can identify with) with Richard Burton's voice is pure genius.

This advertisement comes from Volkswagen and, if we understood it correctly, was broadcasted only in the US, back in 2007. The campaign was named "Night Driving". The music/narration is
